What is SECR?

Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) is a new UK government carbon reporting scheme that has made it mandatory for 11,000 British Businesses to report their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and any energy efficiency measures they have taken.

Reported information is publicly visible and available on Companies House, so it’s important to get it right and take expert advice.

SECR will impact any companies, LLPs and groups that exceed at least two of the following three thresholds in the preceding financial year:

• £36m annual turnover or more

• £18m balance sheet

• Total 250 employees
